The largest model of ERTG rubber tire electric gantry cranes produced by Liebherr officially enters into operation in the Italian ports of Salerno Container Terminal (SCT) and at the Consorzio Napoletano Terminal Containers, Naples (Conateco), a company of the MSC group.

This is a crane from the RTG series with a hybrid engine running on both diesel and electricity via a cable reel, guaranteeing low environmental impact operations and significant energy savings thanks to an on-board energy regeneration system.

4 latest generation cranes useful for generating a growth contribution to the economies of the South and beyond.

We are proud to announce that our company, Liebherr agent for the Italian market, has recently delivered an offshore crane model RL 650 with a luffing having a capacity of 9t 22m to Rosetti Marino S.p.A. in Ravenna. The crane has been installed on the Fenix platform that Rosetti has built for the client Total and will be installed 60km off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in Southern Argentina.

In the last few days 2 of the 4 Liebherr LPS 800 gantry cranes, the largest and most powerful cranes of the range built by Liebherr, were delivered to the port of TarantoThese four gigantic portal cranes run 100% electrically and thus enable emission-free material handling. The cranes have a 4 rope configuration that will able to handle 2.000 tonnes per hour, with maximum lifting capacity of 144 tonnes. The cranes are equipped with the Liebherr Pactronic hybrid system which allows energy to be accumulated during the release of the material in the unloading hopper to be reused during the recovery of the material from the ship’s hold, improving the performance and electricity consumption of the machines as wee as being governed by software of the latest generation with particular attention to the environmental.

The contract was signed between Acciaierie d’Italia and the German port equipment manufacturer Liebherr rappresented in Italy by Mac Port – dealer of the Liebherr Maritime sector.

The new Liebherr mobile harbour crane series gets ready for the future. The new LHM is more digital, more efficient and impresses with a modern exterior design. A new crane control system, advanced sensor integration and digital information transmission enable future assistance and partial automation systems. Ravenna, 14 May 2022 _ Terminal Container Ravenna has inaugurated yesterday (13th May) the new crane and celebrated twenty years of activity with a ceremony that has held to the port of Ravenna in the large square of the Terminal with the authorities and the most important partner. The Mayor of Ravenna Mr. Michele De Pascale, Mr. Andrea Corsini (Councillor for Tourism, Commerce, Infrastructure and Transport of the Emilia-Romagna); Mr. Daniele Rossi (President ADSP Adriatic Sea center north) and the summits of the company’s shareholders of T.C.R. Mr Riccardo Sabadini President of Sapir and MR. Alfredo Scalisi AD of Contship Italy Group and finally for the company Liebherr, CEO Mr. Gerry Bunyan and President Mr. Fabio Bilotti of MAC PORT – official agent Liebherr Maritime for Italy.

The new crane “Ship to Shore” Liebherr will be able to work ships with 18 rows of containers, thanks to an outreach of 50 meters and a considerable ability to raising (under spreader 60 tons, to hook 70). It is an important equipment of the latest generation that is added to the other four Liebherr Cranes that will guarantee maximum level of productivity and quality of service for T.C.R. Terminal.

Technical and Sales Manager Mr. Mirko Fucksia, Service Manager Nord Italia Mr. Alceste Rondoni and the Specialized Technician Mr. Riccardo Monduzzi meet today a group of over 70 students of classes V of the I.T.I.S. “Nullo Baldini” of Ravenna, young people in the process of obtaining their graduation with electronic and electrotechnical specialization.
The Mac Port Working Group explains to the young girls and boys the activities carried out from the Company in particular about the service and maintenance of the Harbour Equipment of Liebherr Maritime division and Liebherr Earthmoving division, the evolution of the sector and the job opportunities it offers to the young people of the territory.

A Liebherr LHM 120 is operational for few days at the port of Ravenna. It’s the smallest model of Liebherr mobile port cranes so far delivered in Italy. The customer, Yara, has its headquarters in Ravenna on the north side of Candiano. It is a brand new customer for MAC PORT srl: its activities in Italy are mainly related to mineral fertilizers, chemical gases and industrial products. The crane is suitable for handling all types of goods; it has a lifting capacity of up to 42 tons. Thanks to the specific design of the undercarriage, it has great mobility and maneuverability in particularly narrow port environments. It also features an excellent stabilization system. It is a vehicle designed mainly for coastal ships: LHM 120 aims to be fast, accurate and safe at the same time. Liebherr cranes comply with high-level paint treatments in compliance with the standards of offshore cranes; moreover the turret is in reinforced resin to resist the most aggressive agents.
