In the last few days 2 of the 4 Liebherr LPS 800 gantry cranes, the largest and most powerful cranes of the range built by Liebherr, were delivered to the port of TarantoThese four gigantic portal cranes run 100% electrically and thus enable emission-free material handling. The cranes have a 4 rope configuration that will able to handle 2.000 tonnes per hour, with maximum lifting capacity of 144 tonnes. The cranes are equipped with the Liebherr Pactronic hybrid system which allows energy to be accumulated during the release of the material in the unloading hopper to be reused during the recovery of the material from the ship’s hold, improving the performance and electricity consumption of the machines as wee as being governed by software of the latest generation with particular attention to the environmental.
The contract was signed between Acciaierie d’Italia and the German port equipment manufacturer Liebherr rappresented in Italy by Mac Port – dealer of the Liebherr Maritime sector.
